A New Chapter in Bangalore’s Urban Transformation, rooted in its Gardens and Melodies.
The project’s first phase nears completion, paving the way for a comprehensive transformation. This includes the main station building, the historic structure’s meticulous upliftment, and the iconic mega roof. The design itself pays homage to Bangalore’s rich cultural tapestry. Inspired by the city’s “Garden City” moniker, the station incorporates floral motifs within its supporting columns. Furthermore, the facade subtly references Karnataka’s musical heritage through the inclusion of elements resembling the sitar. This artistic expression fosters a sense of local identity and cultural connection, ensuring the revitalised station remains deeply rooted in its surroundings.
The design approach aims at reflecting the city’s identity. As Bangalore is celebrated as the ‘Garden City’ and is renowned for its lush landscape, the design harmoniously mirrors the city’s natural elements. Inspired by nature, the station features unique columns with bulb-like structures flaring up at the top to mimic flowers. Additionally, the facade pays homage to Karnataka’s musical heritage, incorporating musical elements such as the sitar. This artistic representation intertwines the station’s design with the city’s identity, infusing it with a sense of local belonging and cultural resonance.
