Strengthening Regional Ties, Elevating Everyday Journeys
Airports in smaller cities play a crucial role in connecting regions and fostering economic growth and opportunity.
The design of imphal Airport, inspired by the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, exemplifies this significance. The terminal’s unique features, such as its one and a half level structure and incorporation of local elements like fishing nets and the Loktak lake, not only enhance the passenger experience but also showcase the rich cultural tapestry of Manipur.
The airport’s forecourt area, designed to accommodate the region’s floating population, is a testament to the thoughtful planning to create functional and culturally relevant airport spaces in smaller ties 2 and 3 cities.
