A Railway Station designed to echo the region’s rich cultural heritage
Designing airports with a sense of place allows them to transcend their functional role, becoming spaces that celebrate the identity and spirit of the region. Through the thoughtful integration of local art, materials, and architectural motifs, airports can create a lasting emotional connection with travellers. The Purnia Airport in Bihar thoughtfully integrates elements that reflect Bihar’s local culture, environment, and identity. The architecture draws inspiration from the region’s natural landscape.
The Purnia airport is developed in two phases, each designed to handle 1,000 passengers, ensuring the airport can efficiently meet growing demand. The project emphasises sustainability, as it is GRIHA 5-star compliant, reflecting its commitment to eco-friendly infrastructure. Advanced green building practices, energy-efficient systems, and environmentally responsible materials are integrated throughout the construction.
